Why not install sw. Sync stuff over and then uninstall

I briefly looked thru the archives and saw a few people mention address
book program but what i ultimately want to do is transfer all my
contacts from my Sprint Treo 700p to my Sprint Mogul WM6.

I tried beaming, and this only works one at a time. Now way am i doing
this. I tried doing them all, and the Mogul gives me an unrecognized
error, i tried doing a smaller group of 20 numbers, same thing, but i
can do them one by one. So i know the beaming works.

Any suggestions on how to get the beam to work?
I am trying to avoid using the active sync software because right now i
am simply testing the phone and do not want to install all the software
associated with it yet.
